The lobes of this form are long and fine, non-serrated but very narrow lobed deeply dissected leaves. In spring blackish red leaves clothe this twiggy, upright-growing. In summer the leaves take on greenish tones. This maple looks good with the more round-headed cultivars such as 'Red Pygmy' or 'Villa Taranto'.
